About UsAbout Tampa Bay AFP The Tampa Bay Association for Financial Professionals (aka TBAFP or Tampa AFP) provides a medium for the exchange of ideas, concepts and techniques in a variety of treasury and financial fields. We are proud of our reputation for providing professional and educational services to treasury professionals. We encourage members to enhance their professional development through participation, education and networking. History Tampa Bay AFP' began in 1990 as the Tampa Bay Treasury Management Association. The association was formed as a non-profit organization and remains so to this day. The original mission was to provide a forum for both improving and recognizing the cash management profession through education and networking. In 2008, the Tampa Bay Treasury Management Association changed its name to the Tampa Bay Association for Financial Professionals as the organization began to expand its focus beyond cash management to include all aspects of the treasury and financial fields. The organization has developed a strong membership base that values the association's focus on covering issues that are important to our members. We draw members from diverse businesses and organizations. TBAFP is one of 64 regional associations affiliated with and recognized by the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) an international professional association with more than 150,000 members worldwide.We support AFP's efforts to increase the stature of the finance / treasury professional while supporting continuing education, certification and career development. Membership TBAFP members come from diverse businesses and organizations--from leading financial institutions, nationally recognized companies, nonprofits, and well-known regional firms. Business memberships consist of both corporate practitioners and financial service providers. TBAFP has approximately 45 member companies, reflecting the numerous companies based in the Tampa Bay / Central Florida and surrounding areas Networking and Educational Events Half day quarterly meetings are the primary forums for providing members educational and networking opportunities. Meeting formats usually consist of speaker presentations or panel and round-table discussions. Members have a chance to listen as seasoned financial, investment managers, treasury professionals, business leaders, bankers, and other financial service providers share their experiences, best practices and current market trends. Members have the opportunity to ask questions, seek advice and stay abreast of the latest financial tools, techniques and ideas. Member liaisons who interact with the national AFP provide essential updates regarding industry standards and pending legislation. Volunteers TBAFP offers its members numerous volunteer opportunities via elected positions and various committee assignments designed to develop and strengthen organizational and leadership skills. CTP/CCM/CPE Recertification Credits Attendees of the annual conference and quarterly meetings can earn Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) continuing education credits for CTP/CCM recertification.
